STRANDED logo: a small green alien's head beside the word STRANDED

STRANDED is a daily game about giving the answer nobody else does

One small alien. One crashed ship. Six questions stand between him and home, and the rarer your answers, the further he runs.

STRANDED is a free daily game you play in your browser. Each day it asks everyone the same six open-ended questions, such as "Name something that runs but has no legs." Every answer is scored by how few other players gave it, and your total decides how the alien's escape ends.

What makes it different

Most quiz games reward knowing the one right answer. STRANDED has no single right answer: each question accepts hundreds, and the common ones are worth almost nothing. It is closest in spirit to the TV quiz Pointless, where the least popular correct answer wins, turned into a two-minute daily game with a story.

Like Wordle or Connections, there is one puzzle a day and everyone plays the same one, so results are easy to compare with friends. Unlike those, two people can both do well with completely different answers.

The full rules, the scoring table and some tips are on the how to play page.

Eight endings, one of them secret

Where he ends up depends on your score out of 3,000. A low score gets him caught early. A middling one lands him somewhere stranger. The very best scores unlock a secret ending and a bonus question. Each ending has its own animated scene, and you only see the one you earn that day.

Streaks, hats and looks

Finish a run on consecutive days and you build a play streak. Share your result and you start earning hats for the alien: the first share unlocks a baseball cap, and sharing 5, 10 and 50 days in a row unlocks rarer ones. Reach the secret ending and get its bonus question right to unlock a new look for him. All of it is kept in your browser, with no account.
